Privacy Policy

Jazz BrewCo collects personal data when you send us a message through our contact form or sign up to our mailing list. We use it only to reply to you or to send you the beer news you asked for. We don't sell it or pass it on.

What we collect

Contact form: your name, email, phone if you give it, and your message. Mailing list: your name and email.

Cookies and analytics

We don't set any cookies until you say yes. When you first visit, we ask whether you're happy for us to use Google Analytics. If you say no thanks, nothing loads and no cookies are set. You can use the whole site either way.

Your answer to that question, and your answer to the 18+ question, are saved in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie. They stay on your device and never reach us. Clearing your browsing data resets both, and we'll ask again next time.

If you accept analytics

We use Google Analytics to see which pages and beers people look at, so we know what's worth doing more of. It tells us things like how many people visited and which page they landed on. It doesn't tell us who you are.

We've turned off Google's advertising features, so your visit isn't used to build an advertising profile or to personalise ads, and we've asked Google to anonymise your IP address. Google process this data on our behalf. Their privacy notice covers what they do with it.

Accepting sets two cookies, both from Google Analytics and both lasting up to two years. One is named _ga and tells a return visit apart from a new one. The other is named _ga_B8H11QRFMB and keeps track of a single visit to this site.

The one cookie we can't avoid

A cookie named __vdpl is set by Vercel, who host the site. It makes sure you get a matching version of the site while we're publishing changes, and it disappears when you close your browser. The site needs it to work properly, so it isn't part of the analytics choice.

Changing your mind

Clear your browsing data for jazzbrewco.uk and we'll ask again on your next visit. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email jazzbrewco@proton.me and we'll sort it. If you're not happy with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
